roadvia is an independent travel guide. It focuses on the traveller's three real questions: How much do I spend per day? Where and when should I be? What should I never do?
Every destination page follows the same discipline: per-person daily budget line items (food, transport, accommodation, activities), a 24-hour City Pulse, practical information (SIM card, cash/card, taxi apps, safety) and traveller tips.
Content is updated regularly; every guide page shows the last-updated date at the bottom.
What we base our guides on
What sets roadvia apart from other travel sites is this: we base prices, opening hours and transport details on primary official sources rather than personal impression.
When we state a museum's admission fee, the source is the museum's own ticketing system. When we give an airport transfer time, the source is the airport operator or the railway company. The kinds of sources we use:
- Official tourism bodies and municipalities (e.g. Roma Capitale / Turismo Roma)
- Airport operators (e.g. Aeroporti di Roma)
- Public transport and railway companies (e.g. Trenitalia, ATAC)
- Museums' and heritage sites' own ticketing systems
- Official transfer operators
At the top of every guide you will find the date it was last checked and how many official sources it draws on. The “Sources and review dates” section at the foot of the page lists every source with its individual check date.
How a guide is built
Every guide goes through three stages of verification. The stages are not equal — each one is allowed to answer a different kind of question.
1. Official sources — the only source for any figure
Admission fees, opening hours, journey times and ticket prices come solely from primary official sources.
The rule is simple: if a price or an opening time cannot be confirmed in an official source, it does not go on the page. We do not estimate, and we do not copy figures from other travel sites.
2. Current field observation — for questions of experience
Official sources will not tell you how long a visit really takes, how long the queue actually is, or how a neighbourhood feels after dark. For questions like these we review recent traveller videos, favouring the most recently dated ones.
This stage never produces a price or an opening time. It informs only the practical impressions that an official source cannot provide.
3. Traveller communities — for the remaining gaps
For questions the first two stages cannot close — whether a particular connection is genuinely feasible, what closes out of season — we consult traveller forums. Information from this stage is never sufficient on its own: we use it only when it recurs across several independent accounts and does not contradict the first two stages.
Translation check
Each of our 18 languages goes through two separate checks after translation: first that every figure, place name and proper noun matches the source language exactly, and second that the text reads naturally to a native speaker of the target language.
When we cannot verify something
If we cannot reliably confirm a piece of information at any stage, we leave it out. An omission is better than an error.
Use of artificial intelligence
We use AI tools when writing our guide texts. We say so openly rather than hiding it, because what matters is not how the text was drafted but whether the information inside it has been verified.
No price, opening time, journey duration or safety warning is published without passing through the three stages above. AI is a writing tool for us, not a source of information. Behind every figure on the page stands an official source you can see named, with its check date, at the foot of that page.
Update policy
Prices and opening hours change. We review our guides every month and refresh the date on the page at each check. If you spot something out of date, tell us — we will correct it and renew the check date.
Independence
roadvia is funded by advertising. No hotel, tour operator or institution can pay to appear in our guides. The places we highlight are an editorial decision.

roadvia is produced by the roadvia editorial team, an independent online publication operating from Türkiye and affiliated with no tourism body, hotel or tour operator. Responsibility for the content rests with the team; for any correction, objection or question, reach us at inforoadvia@gmail.com.
